52. Stirring of the Wind

52. Stirring of the Wind

It fills us up full,
The stirring of the wind—
Which in turn stirs up
Our hearts, minds, and souls.
It enlivens us as it changes
All it touches for the better.

In the stirring of the wind we find
A reason to move on;
Indeed, reasons to change, start fresh...
Reasons that had eluded us
Until nature found it proper to intervene.

After the change has been incited,
What may we become?
Will we rebuild our old path,
Or start anew, from the dust?

One thing is for sure:
Our lives will never be the same
After the stirring of the wind.

  1. Oooh! I like this one. The first stanza seems a little rough. Other than that, it's pretty good. Except... never use the words "for sure". Change it to "certain" or something like that. Still, this is a really good poem with an interesting concept behind it!

  2. Good call! I hadn't thought much about that. I like certain a lot more. =)

And thanks. I agree, the first stanza is the roughest.

  3. Maybe this is just me, but I kinda' wished you hadn't used "stirring of the wind" word-for-word twice so close together. That might just be my personal taste, though.
