They met upon a foggy day,
Encircled 'bout with mist,
And marveled at the easy way
Words spilled forth from their lips.
And so started a happy life
With smiles all around
And when the two became man and wife
Sunshine did abound.

Heaven
Here I sojourn, lonely and cold,
With Death awaiting--his macabre fold
Swinging arms wide with disturbing mirth
As they urge me away from this Earth.
O, Death, I look to thee
To answer this charge:
Will I be free
When I pass the stars?
In the silence, he swings deadly scythe
And morosely ends my journey in Life.
But, question unanswered, I hold to the past
Stubbornly clinging, grasping fast.
O, Death, I look to thee
To answer this charge:
Will I be free
When I pass the stars?
With patient fortitude, Death looks on
Apathetically watching the dusk turn to dawn.
I haven't the strength to keep up my game
And let myself go as Death takes down my name.
O, Death, I look to thee
To answer this charge:
Will I be free
When I pass the stars?
Stars I have passed
And taken in stride,
And here at last
I'm found to reside.

An Odd Poem
It was plain to see that usually
The man was amiable, even jovial,
But as of late there seemed a weight
Hanging its coat about his throat.
In past days, his happy gaze
Would light the world when it unfurled,
But now his eyes were haunted by
The loss of her, his special lover.
Oh wretched ease of peace,
And the horrid last breath of death...
How he longs to once again touch her soft and supple skin!
But no matter, he awaits the date
When heaven's grace will touch his face
And they will see eternity.

Yesterday's poem
Time doesn't wait
For the longing
Of one heart.
It ravages possibility,
Throws out odds,
And makes a fool
Of all man made plans.
If it's a battle
With Time...
Man only wins
By Godly endurance.

Gone
He'd longed to entwine
His fingers with hers
For longer than memory
Served his simple soul.
She'd slipped through
His fingers for just as long,
Not knowing why he tried so
For a love that she didn't feel.
And now, she'd slipped
For the final time.
She'd found her omega
And it wasn't him.
And so he longs for
Normalcy and love.
He'll find them both, surely,
Some quiet day in the future.

Temptation
Encroaching darkness bows to you,
Oh Demon King with speckled soul.
It tells of secrets, lies, untruth
As it swings its gates wide and full.
Why have you come, foul King of Hell?
Why do you wish to tempt my will?
I've thrown in my lot with heav'n's bells
And will find a way your voice to still.

He's Baaaaaack...
As frightening as it may sound, I want to attempt this poem-a-day thing again. Hopefully they won't be so generic this time.
I took the words they spoke in hand
And fashioned from them wings to fly.
I soon began to understand
The way the days of life passed by.
I saw kingdoms fall and true loves burn
Gazed on foolish hopes and ideas new,
But balked when it came my turn
To be seen as with a bird's view.
What a child! What glory I owned
Was borrowed from what my parents loaned.
And so I broke their wings and found
Myself, alone, on unbroken ground.
